Monthly M & M's meeting

Yep it's that time again. Our monthly demos swap. I love these days. They are always such a great source of valuable information, great inspiration, and just plain outright fun. I feel so privileged to be part of Michelle's wonderful team. I always leave feeling so buoyed with enthusiasm, think I might even have found my mojo again. Megan our honorable team member came up with a really cool make and take for us, will definitely be making one of these again, thanks Megan. Sorry guys no pic at the moment as its being used in a workshop soon, and we can't spoil the surprise till after. We had 12 swaps in total this month, great to have so many samples to share,although a little time consuming making so many, worth the effort in the end though. Michelle was going to post these on her blog so jump on over to check them out. We are getting together again next Wednesday, can't wait, nothing like stampin with other people that share your same passion. Anyway here are the details of the card I made for our swap;

Card: elegant eggplant, old olive, whisper white and going grey,
Ink: basic grey, going grey, elegant eggplant, lavendar lace, old olive, certainly celery, craft white.
Stamps: bloomin with beauty, oh so lovely, taggers dozen, heartfelt thanks.
Accessories: 13/4" & 11/4" circle punches, blender pens, dazzling diamonds and crystal effects, sponges and lastly Fall Flowers DSP( I know I used it again........). Enjoy the rest of your day.

something sweet & non stampin

Two posts in one day. See I'm making up for my lack of posts but not with cards. I scored the job of cake maker for the celebrations tonight, I'm hoping it lives up to their expectations, seeing as I'm no expert baker or anything, but while my chocolate-mud cake-devils food cake receipe (can you tell I really don't know what to call it, but its very moist and very rich) is out I will finally get round to sharing it with some interested parties who were seeking it from a stampin gig. Hi all, you know who you are. Here Goes:
2 eggs
112g melted butter
1 cup milk
1 cup water
2 tsp white vinegar
2 tsp baking soda
Beat this first mixture together with an electric beater for two minutes. Add to this mixture
2 cups flour
1/2 cup cocoa (heaped)
1 tsp baking powder (also heaped)
Good pinch salt
13/4 cups sugar
Beat with wooden spoon - if lumpy use electric beater until smooth. Mixture will be runny. Bake @ 180c for approximately 25=35 mins. This makes a very large cake which I usually cook in my roasting pan (hope thats what you call it). Ice with chocloate icing when cool. Voila, one scrummy cake. Bye for now. P.S enjoy your weekend.

Lost mojo

Anyone seen my mojo. I know its been ages since I last posted. I just haven't felt the urge to be creative. Weird, I know. Any way........... its my mother-in-laws 65th birthday celebration today and of course I had to rustle up a card or dear DH would shoot me if I went and bought one. So seeing as I have lost my mojo somewhere (hoping I'll find it soon) I busily searched Splitcoast last night for inspiration. While not an exact case I did find inspiration for this card from some very talented lady .( I forgot to grab their name so if its you let me know so I can acknowledge you). We decided to give mum a gift voucher as it gets harder each year to think of something she doesn't already have, so the second picture is one of the inside where I created a little pocket to house said gift card. Hoping she'll like it.
Stamp sets: Oh so lovely, canvas, Its your birthday. Ink: ruby red, sanded, mellow moss, chocolate chip. Card: Ruby red, chocolate chip, whisper white and river rock. Accessories: 1/4" chocolate chip grosgrain ribbon, word window and 1 3/4" circle punches, blender pen.

Xmas card 1

Wow has a week past quickly or what? In fact hasn't the month just shot by? Its almost time for my monthly Stamp club get together. This time I promised the ladies a Christmas card, a fathers day card and ?. Yep I still don't know quite what we're doing yet but I am getting there. I still have technically got four days to go, plenty of time, not! Anyway. This is the very quick xmas card I have come up with for them to do. I'm a bit limited in my Xmas stamps ( i keep putting of buying them for something else thinking there's heaps of time to get them and what do you know its now well past the half way mark and I still haven't got the sets I want to get). Anyway ( just realised I say that quite a bit will have to come up with something else to say i think). Onwards and upwards. He He He. I have used All about christmas wheel on the front along with the very cool Dashing designer paper. Throw in some river rock, old olive, whisper white, and ruby red cardstock and the star punches and presto one card in less than 5mins. I got to thinking thats probably a bit too quick for them so decided to add to the middle an insert with whisper white cardstock and a couple of festive favourite stamps I might just have to run a few of these off for my xmas card recipient's too I think.

Stationery set part two

I was just about to post my Xmas card when I noticed the last post had not been updated since I finally ( I know I can hardly believe it myself) finished the stationery set. So here are the pics of the rest of the cards, 3 x 3 note cards and gift tags that complete the set.

Stationery Box

Hello again, I know my posts are few and far between. I don't know what it is but I'm going to blame it on the shocking weather we've had lately. All I've really felt like doing in my time off (ha) is lounging around on the couch, reading a book or having a bath. I haven't felt the urge to stamp for awhile hmmmmmm. Just felt like hibernating. Any way here is what I have managed to create when I felt up to it. I have seen these stationery boxes on quite a few blogs now, but i think they originated from Jackie Topias (well at least thats where I found mine and thats who I'm going to give the credit to). I started making this box with my good friend( hi shirlz) last wednesday. I wasn't sure which colours I was going to use until it was suggested I try using colours I wouldn't normally go for. Hence the Groovy guava. Its not one I have used a lot of but I love my fall flowers designer paper ( i know I really need to use something else right) and thought it might team okay. Whatya know I actually don't mind it anymore. So we made the boxes together and I through down the challenge to actually complete them at home. Ha. Well I think Shirlz is actually doing a lot better than me. There's that procrastinating again. I
managed to make only two cards to go in mine so far, but I am rather pleased with them, one in particular. Can you guess which one?
Any way enough blabbering go check out Jakie Topias blog for the really cool stationery box instructions. Super easy to follow step by step.
Both the two cards in this post use the lovely new Bloomin with beauty stamp set out of the new spring mini. And yes you can start ordering now. Yay. I have pulled the colours used from the DSP paper, really rust, groovy guava, sahara sand and whisper white. I outlined the images with a blender pen and my going grey ink pad just to give it a little pop off the page.
Hope you like.
