m & m's meeting

Man am I a bad blogger! Once again a week has passed ( well over this time)and I have not managed to post. So with a gentle reminder from a good friend about the lack of new inspiration on my blog this is what I have to show you. Our monthly m & m's swap was to design a xmas card. As you can see the ladies once again came up with some marvellous desgns. Helen supplied us with tution for making the xmas cracker. These are so cool, I am definitely going to make more of these for the table at xmas, the only problem will be deciding on which DSP to use seeing as there are so many cool choices. The bottom pic is the card I contributed to the Swap. I so love season of joy and am really going to miss this when the mini finishes ( 30 November).

October Stamp Clup Projects

Wow, today is simply gorgeous. Must say its a bit of a shame I have to head into work shortly but thems the breaks. Thought I'd give you a quick post on two of the three projects we made at this months stamp club on Friday. Once again I left everything till the last minute and prayed the ladies would enjoy what I had whipped up. I was a little bit worried but I think they all liked them. I love these nights they just seem to lift your spirits. Lots of laughs, lots of stamping what could be better than that?

MIA

I know it seems forever since I last posted, but with school holidays and having to work night shifts its been awhile since I was able to have a play. So last night I made the most of my night off. So there I was sitting at the table lost, I wanted to play but what to play with , I knew I had to make a birthday card for my brother-in-law so I went for a browse through last years idea and catalogue book for some inspiration. I stumbled across a card using the stamp set Tag Time that I thought hay that'll do, I didn't actually own this set but I improvised. So the top card is my improvisation.

Receipe: Card: taken with teal, not quite navy, close to cocoa, and whisper white. Ink: close to cocoa, taken with teal, not quite navy and craft white. Stamp Sets: Pick a petal, It's your birthday and polka dots & petals. Accessories: black marker, color spritzer, mat pack and dimensinals.
And the best part is I completed an NZSU challenge as well!

This is a card I've had saved to my desk top for some time now (unfortunately I can't remember who the orginal designer was to give credit). The minute I saw it I knew I'd case it at some stage. Isn't it just fantastic that there are so many talented people out there willing to share there ideas for those days when you wanna play but are mojo lost.

Always

This is the swap I came up with for our monthly M & M's meeting. The challenge was mens/boys card. I must confess this one was hard. I really didn't want to have to use wanted, and lovely as a tree again - these being the only menish stamp sets I own, so I tried to use my newest purchase Always and as you can see I didn't quite pull it off, especially compared to the really awesome job the rest of the ladies did. Oh well there's always next month - xmas card challenge.

Faux Tiling

A couple of the ladies from stamp club had asked if we could do the faux tiling technique so this is the very quick last minute card I came up with to finish off the items for Stamp club on Friday.I am so loving this colour combination at present, I've kinda lost count of the amount of cards I've made using these colours. Old Olive, Elegant Eggplant and Whisper White.

Shoes & Shopping

What women doesn't love this combination - shoes & shopping! This darling little shoe was made at my monthly Stamp Club with my upline Michelle. Isn't it just the sweetest thing. One of the ladies at my work asked me awhile back if I could make her a card with shoes and handbags for her sister who is obsessed with both. While not having any shoes in our Su catalogue (that I'm aware off) I was a little bit stumped for this one - and then what do you know - Michelle finds this really cool template for this shoe. This was so much fun to make, and seeing as how I've already managed to give it away I'll definitely be making another. Check out Trudi's blog and the NZSU site for more fab shoes and the challenge.

Case'in Michelle

Okay so here is the third girly card. I turned to my lovely and talented upline Michelle for this card. This is for my niece's 8th birthday, I really wasn't sure which stamp set I was going to use for this card. Lovely as a princess didn't seem quite appropriate for this age, then I remembered a card I had made with Michelle on one of our thursday night stamp classes and I knew it would be perfect. Pick a Petal. This little lady bird is great. Older but still cute. Thanks Michelle.

Oh so Lovely

Really quick post tonight before I go get tea. Here is another of the girly cards I made on Saturday. If you think this looks familiar your right. Back in one of my earlier posts I made one using different colours and a different stamp set but the exact same layout. Two out of the five girly cards are now complete only three more to go.

Garden Whimsey

You know I swear the weeks just roll round faster and faster each time. Almost another full week gone since I last posted. Anyway I had a terrific weekend can't remember A more peaceful time in such a long while. My DH and son left 8am Saturday morning for a cubs camping weekend not returning until after 4pm on Sunday and my Lovely daughter had a sleep over at nana's house Saturday night. I pottered around, had my hair cut, took a very long bath and then my wonderful friend shirlz came over and we stamped until the wee small hours (thanks for keeping me company mate, had a fab time), and I got a glorious Sleep in. I love my kids dearly, but man what bliss. Here is one of the cards I came up with. I have five female birthdays this month so they're gonna be very girly for a while. I love the colours - close to cocoa, pretty in pink, purely pomegranate, and whisper white. Reminds me in a weird way of Rocky road another very bad habit I have (thanks to Michelle's very devine receipe). Anyone recognise the layout? You guessed it our very fabulous Stampin' Up Idea Book & Catalogue (pg75). Look at the inspiration you can get from just owning one of these beauties. Gosh I can ramble. Off to make tea now. Enjoy your night!

Black Magic

Man was today beautiful or what. Bit of a shame I had to work, but here's hoping its a sign of good things to come. No more rain! Anyway here's my play for the night. I am showing the M & M's (Michelle's Mob, my very talented upline and her downlines) the technique black magic this Wednesday so I thought I better have a bit of a play with it tonight. Excuse the poor quality photo cause yes once again its photographed at night. I always get really nervous prepping for other demos. I spend half the night wondering if what I've come up with is good enough. In other words I'm a hopeless basket case. He He :D. Although I just don't limit myself to demos either, you should see me when it comes time for my monthly stamp club. I guess you just never want anybody to leave feeling disappointed with what they've made. Tonight I wanted to use the black magic technique without using the giant fab flower once again so thought I'd try it with one of the other flowers in this set. I found inspiration for this from Alisa Tilsners blog. What do you think? Leave me your comments, help me decide A: is this card good enough or B: I should pull an all nighter tomorrow night (like they're a rare thing!) and try to come up with something else. I know one things for sure I really need to learn to tie ribbon. My knots never look right. There has got to be a trick to it, I just haven't found it yet.

Receipe: Card: Basic black, real red, whisper white. Stamps: Fabulous flowers, spring solitude( level 2 hostess set). Accessories: craft white ink, watercolour pencils, white gel pen, versamark, gold ep, brads, and 1/4" basic black grosgrain ribbon.

Enjoy your day tomorrow!

Monthly M & M's meeting

Megan our honorable team member came up with a really cool make and take for us, will definitely be making one of these again, thanks Megan. Sorry guys no pic at the moment as its being used in a workshop soon, and we can't spoil the surprise till after. We had 12 swaps in total this month, great to have so many samples to share,although a little time consuming making so many, worth the effort in the end though. We are getting together again next Wednesday, can't wait, nothing like stampin with other people that share your same passion. Anyway here are the details of the card I made for our swap;

Card: elegant eggplant, old olive, whisper white and going grey,
Ink: basic grey, going grey, elegant eggplant, lavendar lace, old olive, certainly celery, craft white.
Stamps: bloomin with beauty, oh so lovely, taggers dozen, heartfelt thanks.
