Card Organiser

Tonight I finally got to create this really cool card organiser by Dannie that I had saved to my pictures for quite some time now. I needed a piece of 12x12 cardstock and up until just recently had not got round to purchasing any. Well I bit the bullet last week and ordered some. So tonight I got to play. This was really easy to make and even though it was a video tutorial on my very slow dial-up, it really didn't take that long to make. I have used Fall flowers DSP again. I so love this paper. Its definitely one of my favs. I think this still needs a little something to finish it off, but at the moment I can't quite figure it out. Its going to bug me till I do though. Any suggestions?
Well we finally had some okay weather again today after a pretty shocking week. Hopefully its on the turn and will continue to be good. Although I don't like our chances. Right I'm off to bed might just make it befor midnight tonight :D.

My M & M's Swap

As promised this is the card I made for our Demo's swap (our challenge to use a stamp set out of the new mini catalogue). It uses the stamp set Enjoy every moment, daisy dash wheel and the DSP holiday harmony.I was so impressed with all the different cards. Not long now before the mini catalogue becomes available to our customers (!st of August). I'm sure your all going to love the catalogues just like we do. Check out the post under this one for the rest of the swaps.

Late night Stampin'

Okay so I have finally just finished my swaps for our monthly M &M's (michelle's mob) meeting. Tomorrow morning, which is now not very far away, we will be swapping cards made using stamps out of the new spring mini. I can't wait to see what everyone has come up with as I just love all the new stamp sets in this catalogue. I was going to post a pic of my swap for you all seeing as I am the only crazy one likely to be awake at this hour for peeking but I have taken a few photos now and they all look really shocking. So you will have to hang in there a little bit longer and hopefully I will find some time to blog tomorrow afternoon. In the meantime I will leave you with this email I got sent today.

As we grow up, we learn that even the one person that wasn't supposed to ever let you down probably will.
You will have your heart broken probably more than once and it's harder every time. You'll break hearts too,so remember how it felt when yours was broken.
You'll fight with your best friend.
You'll blame a new love for things an old one did.
You'll cry because time is passing too fast, and you'll eventually lose someone
you love.
So take too many pictures, laugh too much, and love like you've never been hurt because every
sixty seconds you spend upset is a minute of happiness you'll never get back.

Now there's something to ponder on.

Third stamp club project

Hello again. I've noticed its been three days since my last post so I thought I'd quickly pop on the final project we made at stamp club on Friday. I also did this exact card in purely pomegrante, I couldn't decide which one to use so gave the ladies the choice of which one they'd like to do. It was a very enjoyable night, and I have to say a big thanks to Shirlene and Toni for kicking my but into gear and organising this for me. Without them I'm sure I still would be floundering about. Not sure if you can tell in the photo or not but there's a wee bit of crystal effects with dazzling diamonds in the very centre of the flower in the middle. It just cried out to be dazzled a little.

Receipe: Card: sage shadow, chocolate chip, whisper white, co-ordinating inks, Stamps: bud basics, blossoms abound, and a sneek peek at a new wheel out of the spring mini - daisy dash. Large and small oval punches with SU Brads, and chocolate chip grosgrain ribbon.

Stamp Club 2nd Project

Hi Everyone. Okay so this is going to be a really quick post today. I thought I'd show the second make and take for my stamp club tomoroow night. Arghhhhhhhhhhh tomorrow night and I still need the third project. This will be quick. This is another criss-cross box this time done as a Xmas theme. I thought this might be a good way of starting off those xmas cards. We'll make this to hold them in and then every month we will put one or two cards and envies in. Check out that DSP. It is just a sample of one of the new packs available in the spring mini. Alright off to get tea and then to create.

Nifty Notepad

What do you think? While blog hopping (yes again) I came across this nifty notepad. I thought it might just make the perfect make and take for my stamp club this friday. While I'd like to give credit to the original designer unfortunately I saved this to my computer awhile ago and no longer Know who this is. If anybody knows let me know so I can update this post. I am a bit nervous about my stamp club. This is the first one I have attempted. I hope the ladies are going to like what I come up with. I still have two more things to make. Hmm............. what to do? If anybody has anything they have made for one of their stamp clubs they'd like to share it would be greatly appreciated.

Punch Storage

Check this out. My DH has got one weeks holiday and to start his holidays off he came up with this storage solution for my craft punches. I must say I am rather impressed. My draws were seriously bulging at the seams. Now I can see at a glimpse which punches I need instead of rummaging through my draws. These are mounted to the back of my office door taking up no extra space whatsoever. Awesome. Now I might just have to coerce him into making some ribbon storage to detangle the rest of my draws.

I've been TAGGED

Well. Can you tell I'm playing catch up tonight. Lots of things I've been meaning to do but have once again put off. Thanks Michelle for the Tag. While I can't pass this on to 7 people as the rule states I will endeavour to feed you 7 random and or weird facts about me. Gosh where to start.
1. I dislike milk so much that one taste and it regurgitates (can't spell ooh is that another fact..just kidding) itself yet I can eat icecream to my hearts content and my figures demise. I know weird aye.
2. In My youth (oh no I'm old) I was a marching girl. Buzzbies, pancakes and pins galore. I marched for City Gate and one other team I have temporarily forgotten their name (look out alzheimers setting in).
3. For 7 years I was a labourer at Taranaki Sawmills fingerjoining department. Thoroughly loved my job only giving it up to have my two beautiful children.
4. When time allows(hmmmm.....) I love to read a book in the bath. I'm talking front to back, topping up the bath when it gets cold, skin wrinkling, long time soaking. Lucky we have a very good hot water cylinder.
5. I have a love hate relationship with my rose bushes. I love all the beautiful smells and colours, while hating the thorns that get me every time I have to prune, the pests that need constant spraying, and the leaves that get blackspot that fall and spread to the next plant. And the saga goes on. I think I have roughly 20 rose bushes now.
6. I met my husband while working as a telephonist. He was a motorcycle courier for one of the firms I answered the phones for. It was my job to dish out his jobs and tell him where to go. And if you ask him he'll probably tell you i still dish out his jobs and tell him where to go :D)
7. Once while racing with my brother round my parents house on my bike, I looked round to see where he was, by the time I looked back I ran straight into the corner of a 4*4 fence post. I got a lump the size of a golf ball on my forhead, a black eye which graduated to two black eyes. All in the name of fun? I got to attend school with my shiners and all everyone wanted to know was what did the other guy look like?
Well there are my 7 random and very weird facts. Night all.

QKD Bloggers Club

I have been busting to share this really awesome news with you all for ages, I finally figure this is close enough now so................. I got asked to be a honorary PRINCESS for the day for the Queen Kat Designs Bloggers Club (http://www.qkdbloggers.blogspot.com/ ). What is this you may ask...... a club of crazy stamping bloggers that make all kinds of paper crafting projects ( to Quote). They feature 1 person each day and celebrate their creations. The Bloggers Club has featured over 100 people so far. See. How cool is that. My featured day is July 10th. Can't wait to see something I've created on somebody else's blog. He He. Crazy aye. Not long now.

I Got an Award

Thank you to Trudi (who has the most fantastic blog, check out her latest stuff, she has just completed a very cool stationery kit, and pizza box) who nominated me for this award. Its so awesome to know people are actually looking and admiring some of my work.

Fall Flowers Criss Cross Box

Hello again. My time flys when your having fun, and boy have I been having some fun. I recently signed up in the spiltcoast forums for stampin up demos and came across this really cool criss-cross box template. Knew I had to give it a go. This is box number two after a wee teething error. I have as of yet not purchased any 12*12 card stock so modified the instructions to fit standard card. This worked really well, cards fit beautifully, until it came time to put the envies in. Then I had a wee measurement issue. Never to mind a few more adjustments and box number two is perfect. I just love the colours. I pulled all the colours for the cards from the fall flowers DSP, so you will see pictured really rust, sahara sand, old olive and whisper white along with
matching inks. I wasn't sure how this was going to turn out but I am really rather pleased with the results. I have so far managed 7 cards and envies, thats such an odd number I will have to do 1 more but really wanted to blog this for you all seeing as its been awhile (now there's an understatement right!). No matter how hard I try I only ever seem to be able to blog 4 pics in one go, then have to wait hours for blogger to insert the rest (oh for broadband I will get it one day), so tonight I am being cheeky and am going post the next four in another blog so I don't have to wait as long.

Back again these are the remaining items in the criss cross box. Hope you like.

The blog ghosts are at it again. I put the comments next to the right pictures in my draft, published, and what do you know they shifted. So am now edited with better descriptions.

The one using bud basics was inspired by Michelle Force.

The one using bodacious bouquet was inspired by Marelle.

July Stamp Club

This is what we made today at our monthly stamp club meeting. It's called an explosion book or scrapbook in a box (i think?). This was such fun to make. We had no photos, we simply decorated, added embellishments and voila. Well, okay some of them went voila, me, I took a little bit longer than most. Lucky for me Michelle didn't have lunch time plans today. Sorry Michelle! I took what I didn't finish home with me and have just completed now. I must say I don't have many real photos anymore they all seem to have accummulated on disk. But I really wanted to see it finished so it was quite fun fishing out the old photo albums for something half pie decent. It's quite unreal how much your kids can change in the process of growing up. My DH at one point asked "who's this a photo of?". I did find some wallet size portraits of the kids we'd got taken awhile back that fit just perfect. There are two spaces left in my box without photos on. They are for me and dh and one for all of us. I will have to get those taken soon to really finish it off.
I have used Brocade Background Dsp, chocolate chip, ruby red and very vanilla cardstock, matching inks and lots of punches.

M & M's Bold Brights Swap

You'll have to excuse the poor quality of the photos tonight but I really wanted to show you some of the things I have been receiving and doing over the last couple of days. I really wish there was some way of making the photos turn out the same regardless of day or night.
Any how these are the swaps I received from my M & M's (michelle's mob) meeting on monday night.
Aren't they just the coolest. For those of you who haven't read my previous post we were challenged to use bold brights card stock. Once again it was an awesome night. Lots of great tips, advice and plenty of laughs to boot. Can't wait for the next meeting.
